DIY Toxin Free Deodorant THAT WORKS!

Do you know how important your armpits are to your body's healthy function?! No, really! I am being serious! Let me explain. Our bodies have many different ways to rid of toxins. Our armpits not only contain sweat glads to get rid of these toxin, but you also have lymph nodes in there that, if not taken care of properly, can create all sorts of issues in your body (including cancer)!

Most store bought deodorants contain horrible chemicals that can hurt you! Some even stop you from sweating, which sounds great for your clothing, but not so great for your body! Think about it! If you don't sweat out toxins, they just sit in your lymph nodes in your arm pits and build up! YUCK! All those toxins are also being absorbed right into your blood stream! No thank you! Then you have the "natural" deodorants that have much better ingredients, but don't always work so great (or not at all). I have a solution! I have been making my own toxin free deodorant for 3 years and it works wonders!

Here's what you need:

1/4 Cup Arrowroot Flour

1/4 Cup Aluminum Free Baking Soda (Arm and Hammer isn't aluminum free but thats all I had for these pictures, I know I know, get it together Jenna!)

1/4 Cup Coconut Oil

10-15 drops of your favorite essential oils (note: I always try and use a blend of oil that are going to support my body in some way)

Melt the coconut oil down until it's a liquid consistency. DO NOT MICROWAVE (I have a whole other blog post to write about microwaves) I usually put it in a glass bowl and then set that glass bowl in a shallow pot of hot water (AKA Double boiling). It should melt very quick.Remove coconut oil from heat and add the Arrowroot and Baking Soda.

📷Stir until mixed well.

📷Add 10-15 drops essential oil and mix well.

📷Pour mixture into container of your choice. I usually use actual deodorant containers. You can buy them new in bulk online (amazon even has them) or you can simply clean out an old container with rubbing alcohol. You can also use a mason jar and just scoop out what you need, however its much messier!

📷Put the lid on and set in the fridge until solid. (Note: if you live in a warm climate, you may notice this mixture may be a little more liquefied when using.

You can keep in the refrigerator until each use or you can add more of the dry ingredients to keep it a little more firm.Feel good knowing you're doing something good for your body!

I hope you enjoyed this DIY.....Stay tuned for more GOOD for you DIY's!

XOXO

Jenna
